TOPIC: Taking over ownership of your child’s sport.

Try to encourage your child and support them when they choose a sport. Let them own their own decision to play a sport. Nurture their passion, encourage them and support them. When they fail and they will, let them work through it. Being too serious about your child’s sport may undermine their feelings of ownership and control over their decision to play in the first place. If you are fighting with your child over the details, than back off. Over time your child will re-engage and remember why they chose the sport.
